二、Language points
1. pair n. （相关的）两个人，一对
【经典例句】Let’雷海清s play the game in pairs. 我们两人一组做这个游戏。
【考点聚焦】(1) pairs 是名词pair 的复数形式。
(2) in pairs 表示“成双的，成对的”。 Let’s play the game in pairs. 我们两人一组做这个游戏。
(3) a pair of 意为“一双、一副、一把……”

2. correct v. 改正
【经典例句】You must correct the bad habits. 你必须改正这些坏习惯。
【考点聚焦】 (1) correct 此处用作及物动词，表示“改正；纠正”。 Can you correct my pronunciation? 你能纠正我的发音吗？
(2) correct 还可以用作形容词，表示“正确的；对的”。
The answer isn’t correct. 这个答案不正确。
【经典例句】My brother often practises playing the guitar. 我哥哥经常练习弹吉他。
【考点聚焦】(1) practise在此处用作不及物动词，表示“练习”，practise doing sth. 表示“练习做某事”。

(2) practice 作不可数名词，表示“练习；实践”。

4. mistake n. 错误
【经典例句】He often makes spelling mistakes. 他经常犯拼写错误。
【考点聚焦】 1)注意常用搭配：make mistakes 犯错误；correct mistakes 改正错误；by mistake 错误地。
2)mistake 还可用作动词，意思是“弄错，误解，把……误认为”，常用在结构中，如：pest分析法We often mistake Lucy for Lily. 我们经常把露茜误认成莉莉。

它还常用在不定代词之后，如：I’d like something else.我想要点别的东西。

【考点聚焦】advice 表示“建议，忠告”，是不可数名词。要表示“一条建议”，应用a piece of advice；“采纳某人的建议” follow/take one’s advice。注意advice的动词是advise，常用词组为advise sb. (not) to do sth. We advised them to start early. 我们建议他们及早开始。
