ABSTRACT
Virtual Reality is composed of the three dimension space scene that is created
by computers and can interact with human beings. It not only could build a virtual scene that is very real and tanglesome, but also the users can interact whit the virtual scene. This all improve the system’s interaction and immersion. With the fast development of the technology in Virtual Reality, the field using this technology is extend to more trade from few industry early ,such as the film industry and the aeronautics and astronautics industry.
This research item , three dimension river simulation system based on virtual reality technology , is a elementary attempt to use virtual reality technology in new field. The researching item is guided by the idea of “Digital earth”, and realize the technology used to render and show the virtual scene of the three dimension river and the function to scan the virtual scene. The system use the three graphics application library OpenGL at the flat tool VC ++ and amalgamate the virtual reality technology, three dimension digital visual, orient object design and programming technology. First, the system builds the model of the bank and bottom of river, according to the river’s information and the information of the scene on the two side of the river. Second, I read and preprocess the model fil
e data and implement the organization and encapsulation about the space data of the virtual river. In the end , adopting to use these rending technology , such as show list, priority texture, and level of detail, I realize the real-time and vivid showing of the three dimension river’s virtual scene and provide abundant ways of people’s interacting with the virtual scene, on base of sufficiently making use of the memory of vision card and the CPU of the computer .
