ordance with the larger diameter.
d1is the diameter on the side of the fastening tongue.
(The lengths l1 and l5 shall be measured over a fixed metal mandrel attached on a flat metal plate, with nominal diameter d1or d2.)

3 Material
Table 3: Materials
Name Band and reinforcement tongues
W1Steel with a tensile strength of at least 400 N/mm2 (grade at the manufacturer's discretion)
W3Steel with steel number 1.4016 in accordance with DIN EN 10088-2 or equivalent corrosion-resistant steel (grade at the manufacturer's discretion).

Elastomer coatings in accordance with DBL
4 Design
Edges in accordance with DIN 6784, ± values < 10% of the belt thickness, burr height in accordance with DIN 9830.DMF
4.1 Fastening clamps manufactured from W1
4.1.1 Clamps without elastomer section
Standard surface protection version in accordance with DBL 8451.12 (not indicated in the designatio
n).
4.1.2 Clamps with elastomer section
Standard version:Elastomer DBL 5561.40, optionally DBL 5556.30 - at temperature £ 100°C.
Special version:Elastomer DBL 5561.22, optionally DBL 5556.30 - at temperature > 100°C to 120°C shall be indicated with S in the designation.
Example: Clamp N 16 016 - ARSGU S 15/12 – W1

The special version in accordance with DBL 5561.22 shall be marked with a red colour strip on the elastomer section.
The special version in accordance with DBL 5556.30 shall be marked with a white colour strip on the elastomer profile.
4.2 Fastening clamps manufactured from W3, W4

In accordance with DIN 3016 Part 4.
Adherence to the specifications of this standard shall be confirmed by the manufacturer by means of a test report 2.2 in accordance with EN 10 204 (identical with DIN 50 049).
If required, the user may demand proof of compliance with the specifications of this standard by means of the DIN test and control mark (this mark can be applied for from the German Product Marking Agency (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Warenkennzeichnung - DGWK).
6 Marking
The hose clamp shall be permanently marked on the band with:
- the nominal diameters d1 and d2
-
in case of corrosion-resistant steel, the material name in accordance with Table 3
- the manufacturer's or supplier's name or symbol.
7 As-supplied condition
The fastening clamps shall generally be supplied in untensioned condition (refer to drawing).
Matrix of characteristics
For hose clamps in accordance with this standard, matrix of characteristics MBN 4000-44-1 shall apply.
