Testing instructions:
1. Non-accessible components are not sampled and tested unless they emit a conspicuous odour while in use by the product.
2. Coated material: If it is possible to separate the material using simple operations, it is defined to be two materials, e.g. PU flame laminated material. Otherwise the material is tested as a composite
sample.
3. The limit of PAHs will be according to the usage listed in th e document AfPS GS 2019:01.
a. Category 1 limit : Materials intended to be placed in the mouth, or materials coming into long-term contact with skin (more than 30s) during the intended use - in toys according to Directive
2009/48/EC or - for the use by children up to 3 years of age
b. Category 2 limit : Materials not covered by category 1, coming into long-t erm contact (more than 30s) or shortterm repetitive contact with skin during the intended or foreseeable used
c. Category 3 limit : Materials covered neither by category 1 nor by category 2, coming into short-term contact (up to 30s) with skin during the inten ded or foreseeable use
