摘要：A method of determining whether an MS (11) has left a femto cell while in idle mode, and deregistering the MS from a Generic Access Network, GAN, upon making this determination. A Femto Cell Customer Premises Equipment, Femto Cell CPE, (51) may deregister (105, 116) the MS if the MS fails to perform a periodic location update at a time ordered by the Femto Cell CPE. The Femto Cell CPE may also deregister (126) the MS if the MS fails to respond to a paging attempt originated by either the Femto Cell CPE or a GAN Controller, GANC (13). The Femto Cell CPE may also deregister (134) the MS if the GANC instructs all of the MSs in the femto cell to perform attach and detach procedures, and the MS sends a detach indication toward a core network (14). In alternative embodiments, the GANC deregisters the MS rather than the Femto Cell CPE.ctsb
