) 最近想写一篇关于家乡的英文文章，百度了一下，发现关于莆田的英文简介几乎为零。遂自己查字典，搜资料写了一篇。由于时间仓促，加之本人水平有限，文中难免有语法不妥，用词不当之处，还望各位朋友批评指正。当然莆田的美食美景远不止如此，有兴趣的朋友，特别是莆田的XDJM们可以在这篇文章的基础上加以完善，争取把家乡的美食美景以英文的形式完整的呈现在世人面前。 |

A Brief Introduction of My Hometown
My hometown Putian locates in the east of Fujian province,it borders Fuzhou city to the north,Quanzhou city to the south,and the Taiwan strait to the east.The municipal region of Putian comprises of four districts and one county.That is Chengxiang district(芮成钢专访城厢区),Hanjiang district(涵江区), Licheng district(荔城区),Xiuyu district(秀屿区) and Xianyou county(仙游县).I have lived in Xianyou county for 23 years since I was born.As many citys i
n Fujian we also have our own dialect which we called Puxian dialect(莆仙话).Puxian dialect has its own characters that discriminate itself from the other dialects in Fujian.

Place to vist in Putian
If you come to Putian for a journey and want to know where to vist first,I suggest Meizhou Island(湄洲岛).Meizhou Island is most famous for being the legendary birthplace of the goddess Matsu(妈祖) who is thought to be the guardian of fisherman.The believers of Matsu mainly concentrate in Fujian and Taiwan.According to statistics,among millions of visitors to Meizhou Island every year one people in ten comes from Taiwan.Now Meizhou Island has become an important base of cultural exchanges between Fujian and Taiwan.

Besides Meizhou Island there is another place of interest that you should never miss whe
药品评价n you come here.That is Jiuli Hu(九鲤湖).Jiuli Hu locates in Zhongshan town of Xianyou county and is famous for the falls above the lake and the poem on the stones left by the ancient poets thousand years ago.What’s more,Maixie Rock(麦斜岩),Caixi Rock(菜溪岩),Tianma Hill(天马山江西省教育资源公共服务平台) in Xianyou county are also worth visiting.
The hometown of fruits
Thanks to the superior geographical position,Putian has a pleasant climate with an annual average temperature of 18-21℃.It’s very suitable for the growing of fruits.There are many delicious fruits in Putian,such as longan(桂圆/龙眼),pomelo(文旦柚),litchi(荔枝),loquat(枇杷) and so on. So Putian is also called “the hometown of fruits”.

Putian has a lot of delicious sancks,such as fired ground rice noodles(炒米粉),Putian noodles(莆田卤面),chibing(赤饼),wonton(扁食/馄饨).My favorite sanck is a bowl of wonton soup while eating chibing.When mentioned dessert,I remind liaohua(阿尼姆斯阿蓼花) and matong(麻筒).I haven’t eaten liaohua(蓼花) and matong(麻筒) for a long time.How missing I am now.As to me,they are not only a kind of food,but also a kind of memory that I can take whith no matter where I am.

Spring festival in PuTian
Spring festival in PuTian is a little different from the other place in Fujian.A few days before New Year’s Eve,families gather together to make “Hongtuan”(红团)which is indispensable in the spring festival of Putian people. “Hongtuan” is a kind of cake with red outlook and sweet sticky rice inside,presenting the reunion of families.Dinner in New Year’s Eve is abundant and delicious,but unlike northern people we don't eat dumplings.After New Year’s Eve dinner we will set off firecrackers and fireworks,durig that we offer sacrifices to gods and our ancestors to pray for the good luck for the next year.

It’s for want of will rather than of means that man fail to success.I believe as the development of the economic zoon of west coast of the strait and through the effort of diligent Putian people,the future of Putian will become better and better.
