1. Introduction
1.1 Scope
This guideline defines the installation and integration scope of works undertaken by COOEC for Turret Modules on the Pyrenees Disconnectable Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) Facility, of which name is “Pyrenees Venture”. This facility has the capability to
disconnect from its mooring and the subsea reservoir when threatened by a cyclone and depart the area. When the storm threat has passed, the FPSO vessel will return to the mooring,
reconnect to its mooring and resume oil recovery and production. The Disconnectable Turret Mooring (DTM) System provides the capability.
The vessel is currently under conversion from a trading tanker to the fit-for-purpose FPSO and the turret modules are under construction. The turret modules shall be installed into the moon pool located at forward area of the vessel around Fr. 99. The turret modules consist of four major
modules and a major component, which are Spider Buoy Structure (SBS) (Out of Scope of
Integration Work), Lower Turret Module (LTM), Upper Turret Module (UTM) and Swivel Access Structure (SAS) and Swivel Stack Assembly which shall be assembled and erected onto UTM one by one.
All bulk material such as steel, piping, tubing, hose, fittings, electrical cable, cable glands, MCT, paint, etc., and all necessary tools / equipment / scaffolding / consumable shall be supplied by COOEC unless otherwise specified in this document.
The detail scope of works is described in the following relevant sections. The detail and working procedures shall be prepared by COOEC and submitted to MODEC for approval prior to the
works.
Note: Photos in this document are taken from MODEC previous disconnectable FPSO projects. The
Pyrenees DTM design is very similar to these but not exactly same.
1.2 Definitions
BHPB - the owner of the FPSO..
MODEC - the EPC and O&M contractor of the FPSO.
SOFEC - the subcontractor of MODEC undertaking EPC of the DTM.
FRAMO - the subcontractor of SOFEC and the supplier of Swivel Stack Assembly and associated equipment.
