Competition Is Ultimately More Beneficial
Than Detrimental To Society
As what I’ve learnt from my parents and teachers, the key to make a civilized man out of a naked ape is the sense of cooperation, by which our ancestors evolved from living separately to living as a group--the archetype of modern society. However, with food, wealth, and anything men long for becoming increasingly scarce and limited, competition becomes indispensable in social life. The views held about it are various. Some accuse the social competition of bringing in disharmony and unrest, while others argue that despite the unsettlement, competition itself is innocent, and it will ultimately do more good to the society than bad. From my point of view, the latter state is sensible.
Admittedly, severe competition has witnessed some kind of moral corruption and crime, but it’s not competition that should be inculpated. Competitors follow the law of survival and the desire for excellence, which are the essential driving forces for social development. It seems people never slack in pursuit of a better life, hence the manifest ambition for knowle
dge and development. Likewise, society benefit from competition. One can barely imagine how civil society will be without it: Intel wouldn’t have invented the famous chip 8084 if they had lost the desire for splitting the market dominated by IBM; capitalism would have lain dead in ports and mills of Netherland and Italy if it had capitulated to the pressure of feudal empires; the whole world would be stuck in a rotting state. Luckily, the eagerness to win and be glorified stimulates any part of the society to strive for their goals. And eventually, the entity will benefit from the individual competition between men with free-will, which triggers self-refinement and self-exploration of the whole society.
定价模型音素Inevitably, unfair competition agitates the laws of market and the morality of life, for which the society has paid enormous unnecessary cost. Nevertheless, the society is advancing, with the legislation reformed and refined. Accordingly, the forms of competition can be modified properly and effectively. On one hand, the application of it will still ensure an active and prosperous society. On the other hand, the unlicensed liberty undermining the fairness and justice of the social system will be minimized, together with the social cost.

冷雾With all the statement above, I fully believe that competition will eventually benefit rather than worsen the society, if only it is properly organized and supervised.
