1.Generation Gap Nowadays, there is often a lack of understanding between parents and children. Children always complain that their parents are out of date, while parents can’t approve of what their children say and do. Thus, a big generation gap is formed.The gap remains wide for many reasons. Children want to be free to choose their own friends, select their own classes in school, plan their own future, earn and spend their own money, and generally run their own life in a more independent way than many parents allow. Also, young children wish to be understood by their parents, but most parents don’t quite understand their children. They regard it as their responsibility to teach their offspring traditional beliefs. They want them to be obedient and do well in school. Therefore, misunderstanding often arise from parents’ tendency to interfere in children’s daily activities.In my opinion, most problems between parents and children could be solved by joint efforts of both sides to enhance mutual understanding.代沟 如今,父母和子女之间经常缺乏沟通.子女经常抱怨父母过时了;而父母并不赞同子女的 言行.于是一个很大的代沟就产生了. 产生代沟的原因有很多.子女希望过比父母允许的更独立的生活:自由的选择自己的朋友;在学校里自由的选择自己的社团;自由的描绘自己的将来;自由的支配自己的花费.当然年轻的子女们也希望能够得到父母的理解.但是并不是大多数的父母都能够理解他们的孩子,他们认为教育他们的后代树立传统的信仰是他们应有的责任,他们希望子女在家里能够孝顺,在学校能够好好学习.于是,不理解就往往从父母打算干涉子女的日常生活中产生了. 我认为:父母和子女间的代沟问题可以通过双方相互理解来共同解决. Generation gap is a concept which means a lack of understanding and communication between parents and children. Children always complain that their parents do not understand them while parents worry about their children's behaviours and ideas.Why does there exist a generation gap between the children and the parents? Firstly, people who live in different time have different viewpoints towards social customs and tradition. For example, parents who were born in 1950's are very surprised at the fashion in 1990's. Secondly, the parents and children seldom sit down together to talk or communicate with each other equally. If they do so, the gap will be narrowed, If not, it will 复杂网络widen. In most cases, the parents often blame the children's behaviour or style of clothes instead of caring about their thoughts. Thirdly, the children want to be more independent, but the parents still want to take children under their wings.
To ease the problem and bridge the generation gap, parents should treat their children as friends and try to understand the feelings and thoughts of the young. Meanwhile, children should respect their parents and think of the problems from their parents'viewpoint. Furthermore, the parents should keep study and catch up with the development of the fashion. In this way, they will understand their children's behaviour. Work together, the problem will be solved.

Actually, the generation gap also was not one physical existence, but is one kind of psychological existence, the contact, may let the psychological relation which between the generation and the generation once broke continue, thus achieved the exchange smooth and was together harmony.
代沟,简单地说就是不同年龄层次的人因思想观念上的差距造成的心理距离.就象沟一样,隔开了一代一代的人,影响两代人之间的理解和沟通.但是到了新世纪,代沟不仅存在于上一代与下一代之间,而且在年龄相隔10年、8年的人们之间,甚至在大学的高年级与低年级之间,都会有令人惊叹的明显差异.人们常常说,代沟是时间的痕迹,变革的脚步.如此看来,出现代沟是自然的,没有代沟反倒是不自然的,所以,代沟现象也容易被人理解. 但代沟毕竟是困扰交流与沟通的难点,而且容易增加形成偏见和歧视的可能性,代沟两侧的人轻则互不理解,重则抱有敌意,所以我们也要通过种种途径作各种努力来跨越代沟、填平代沟.其实,代沟也并不是一种物理存在,而是一种心理存在,接触,可以让代与代之间曾经断裂的心理联系接续起来,从而达到交流的顺畅和相处的和谐.
Nowadays, many young people are complaining that their parents can not understand them very well. They say that their parents take care of every aspect of their lives, leaving them unable to have their private space. Yet, parents are worried that their children don't show any respect to them and never give them any trust.
现在，许多年轻人抱怨他们的父母不太了解他们，他们认为父母对他们生活的各个方面干涉太多，使得他们没有自己的空间。然而，父母却担心孩子对他们不够尊重和信任。

In my opinion, I think we should first admit that there are indeed some differences between parents and children. Then, we should try to take some time to communicate with each other frequently. Not only the parents, but also the kids should be equal when exchanging their views. Only by their joint efforts, can the parents and children bridge the generation gap between them.在我看来，首先我们应该承认父母与孩子之间的确存在着差异。然后，我们应该经常花时间去沟通。在交换彼此意见时，父母和孩子应该处于平等地位。只有通过他们的共同努力，父母和孩子才能拉近彼此的距离。

2010年土耳其世锦赛No one could have failed to notice that the relationship between parents and children has been a vital public topic now.Lack of understanding,parents and kids cannot exchange ideas with each other freely sometimes.we called this situation generation gap. Why generation gap exists ?Firstly,in my view,differing from parents,children easily face diverse and various information,they are likely to do things on their own.But parents always think they are not right.So conflict and generation gap occur.Secondly,parents and children are born in different time,and they are grow up in nearly two worlds.Thus,generation gap naturally becomes the obstacle between parents and kids due to time.
As far as I am concerned,it is possible that we can build a bridge between parents and kids to span the generation gap.To start with,frequent communication is very important.Maybe the conflict will disappear while they are talk with each other.Additionally,parents could look some similar interest with kids.If kids feel parents like their friends,the gap may be vanished. Everyone knows without the slightest doubt that love is necessary,so let us communicate with your parents or kids more and more for having a better understanding instead of generation gap.
