SPM MOORING HAWSER, DOUBLE BRAIDED NYLON, 2 x 45.7 M ( 150 FT ) FINISHED LENGTH x 16” CIRC. 1. General Description : 1.1- The rope shall be made from 100% virgin nylon 6.6 with marine finish first quality yarn approved by
combatfocusthe OCIMF prototype test programmed. 1.2- Double braided nylon hawser as a grommet assembly spliced endless with an end for end splice to be located in the middle of each grommet leg.
1.3- An 8 feet long polyester cloth protection to extend for a total of 4.0 m ( 13 ft ) from the bearing point of
the eyes. 1.4- Hawser legs to be held together with 30 seizing’s each Shell spec 300 mm long made from 16 mm dia.
3 strand nylon rope. 1.5- Each assembly fitted with 20 x 8 pocket lace on floats, 2 x 9 pocket lace on floats and 1 x 10 pocket
lace on float. 1.6- All floats to be secured by 7 mm dia. polyester lacing braid. 1.7- Hawser supplied complete with hot dipped galvanized cast ductile iron SPM thimbles. 1.8- Hawser shall be completed wi
th heavy duty double nut with cotter pin, SPM connecting shackle at each
end (total 4pcs), SWL 110 tons; safety factor 5; galvanized, painted finish. Test certificate to be included upon delivery. 2.Rope Breaking Strength : 2.1- Dry breaking strength 368 ton, as a grommet 625 ton. 2.2- Wet breaking strength 340 ton, as a grommet 578 ton. 3.Lace On Floats : 3.1- High quality lace on floats made from heavy duty ballistic nylon cloth.
Comprising of double outer carcass and double sewing using high tenacity, high
denier nylon. 3.2- Eyelets shall withstand a rupture test equivalent to a load of 150 kg applied for 15 minutes.
3.3- The buoyancy shall be provided by 100% closed cell polyethylene foam.
4.Rope Length : 4.1- Each hawser shall be measured from the bearing point of the thimble at each end under the application
of a reference load 4.0 ton which has been applied for a duration of 10 minutes.
4.2- The length shall be within 0.457 m (18”) of nominal length and as matched pairs to have a tolerance of
0.229 m (9”) between matched pairs.
