1. predict(vt.)预测；预言；预料--prediction(n.)预测；预言--predictable(adj.)可预见的 ②forecast(vt.&n.)预测；预报
When listening for predictions, you should listen for the use of the future tense, in particular（=particularly 特别；尤其） the future tense with will or will be doing. Words such as predict（预测）, prediction, and forecast（预测）, are also used quite often when making predictions（作出预测）.
predict(=forecast) the future/outcome预知未来/预见结果 weather forecast天气预报
The Atlantic is predicted to warm faster than the rest of the world’s oceans.

In the article, various people said that the public should oppose（反对）the idea of developing driverless cars.在这篇报道中，多位人士表示公众应该反对无人驾驶汽车这一想法。 Do you support or oppose this plan?你支持还是反对这个计划？
Many local people opposed building the new airport.很对当地人反对建新的机场。
