Step 1 Lead-in.
1. Have an oral talk with the class.
Say I have some hobbies such as swimming, reading books and travelling.
Ask Do you have any hobbies? What’s your hobby?
Say I alse collect tickets like bus tickets and train tickets.
Ask Do you collect anything? What do you collect?
2. Show some pictures on PPT and learn some new words.
Step 2 Listening.
1. Look and predict Tony’s family’s collections in A1.
Listen and find out what Tony’s family collect.
2. Listen again and answer the questions.
What does Tony’s mum want him to do?
Which hobby does Tony think is expensive?
3. Discussion: Which hobby do you think takes up the most place?
Step 3 Listening and reading.
1. Listen and try to complete the notes about hobbies.
Call back answers from the class. Then listen again and check the answers with the class.
Say something about the table.  Eg. Lingling’s hobby is collecting fans.
2. Read and answer the following questions and underline the answers in the conversation:
How many fans has Lingling got?
How does Lingling get the fans?
Step 4. Discussion.
Whose hobby do you think is the most expensive? And why?
What do Lingling, Betty and Tony think of collecting?
Step 5. Listen and imitate reading the conversation.
Pay attention to the following sentences.
1. Let me have a look.
2. Do you collect anything?
3. Yes, I collect coins and notes.

Step6. Read the converstion in groups of 3 and try to understand the everyday English.
