1 The Purpose of this Document.
1.1 The Intended Reader.
This document is intended for readers who, having just acquired PHOENICS wish to perform some simple fluid-flow calculations, before learning about PHOENICS as a whole.
1.2 The Information to be Conveyed.
The activation and use of the following will be described:
∙the PHOENICS VR Environment, which facilitates the activation of
1. the VR-Editor,
2. the VR-Viewerand
3. the PHOENICS solver module, ‘EARTH’, which performs the flow-
simulation calculations.
∙the Virtual-Reality Editor which enables users to set up flow simulation calculations; and,
∙the Virtual-Reality Viewer which enables them to view the results of those calculations.
This will be done by way of simple examples, the geometry of which is shown in Fig.1.
