From 1 July 2009, the following visa application charges CNY (Chinese Yuan,
or Renminbi, RMB) apply.
• Tourist visas (subclass 676) CNY 540
• Short Stay Business visas (subclass 456) CNY 540
• Temporary Residence (non-business) visas CNY 1,330
• Business (Long Stay) Visa - Subclass 457 - visa application CNY 1,330
• Business (Long Stay) Visa - Subclass 457- sponsorship CNY 1,770
• Business (Long Stay) Visa - Subclass 457- nomination CNY 360
• Student Visa - Subclass 570-576 CNY 2,770
• Partner/Family Migration visas CNY 8,750
• Resident Return visas CNY 1,330
• Citizenship by Descent CNY 620

For applications lodged at the Beijing or Guangzhou Visa Offices, passports will be returned by EMS. The EMS fee is CNY 20 extra per application (for up to 5 Passports). For applications lodged in Guangzhou EMS is charged at a rate of CNY 23 per application. (Up to 4 passports).
From 1 October 2009, the Shanghai Visa Office will use SF Express (顺丰速运) to deliver passports and documents to clients.
SF Express will deliver within 3 days and will charge the receiver on delivery. The cost of delivery for 1 to 2 passports is between RMB 10 to RMB 20 depending on the distance from Shanghai.

Once you have determined the Australian dollar amount from the Form 990i, you need to use the currency converter, also at the above address, to determine the equivalent amount in RMB.
Payment Options - Applicants residing in China Option 1: At any China Post office by Chinese postal money order. When paying by postal order please note the following points:
• All information must be written in Chinese
• The money order must be for the exact amount
• The recipient must be the DIAC office at which you are lodging your visa application
• The postal order must include the recipient's address. Please see contact details for our DIAC offices in China
• The postal order should include the detailed address of the applicant
• You must write the full name of the applicant. If a representative of the applicant is paying the fee, the name of the applicant must also appear on the postal order.
• The notes section at the bottom of the postal order can be used to provide any additional information such as the subclass of visa you are applying for or the type of information booklet you wish to purchase.
* Please note that postal orders may take up to a week to arrive at our office and processing of an application cannot begin until the payment is received.

If you request us to return the passport by EMS, please pay CNY 23 extra per person (Up to 4 Passports) Option 2: In person at the client service counters of one of the three Visa offices in the PRC. Please note that our China offices can only accept payment in Chinese Yuan (CNY/RMB). We do not accept Australian, American or Hong Kong dollars, payment by credit card or personal cheques. Please check the client service hours of our offices. Option 3: At any DIAC Office in Australia. The payer should inform the Visa office of the applicant's full name and the office in which the application will be lodged. The pink copy of the payment receipt should be attached to the application.
Please do not to send cash by mail.Payment Options - Applicants residing in Mongolia Most applicants from Mongolia will choose to lodge their applications through mail
or courier, rather than coming to Beijing in person. Applicants must not send cash by mail or courier.
If lodging by mail or courier, then you can choose one of the following payment options:
Option 1: Ask a representative in China to pay the visa application charge for you at the Australian E
mbassy in CNY. They will need to provide you with the receipt number which you should submit with your application.
Option 2: Ask a representative in China to arrange a Chinese postal order in CNY for you.
Option 3: Ask a representative in Australia to pay the money for you at a DIAC office in Australia for you. They will need to provide you with the receipt number as you must provide this number to us when you lodge your application.
The Visa Application Charge must be paid in Chinese Yuan (CNY). United States Dollars (USD) are only accepted in the form of bank drafts. An USD bank draft from Mongolia should be issued in the name of “Australian Embassy Beijing”. Please note that a bank draft generally takes 60 working days to clear. We cannot begin processing an application until the bank draft has been cleared and payment received.
