对于生物聚羟基脂肪酸酯PHA的生物相容性的研究,主要集中于PHB、PHBV和PHBHHx三种聚合物,同时聚-3-羟基辛酸PHO,聚-4-P4HB也有一些研究。对于PHA在组织工程方面的应用,美国FDA已经做出批准。PHA家族中由于单聚物、共聚物及共混物种类的众多,同时也具备了多种多样的性能,原则上,PHA能够满足多种人体组织器官的需求,如:心血管系统、胃肠系统、肾脏、泌尿生殖系统、肌肉骨骼各系统、神经系统、皮肤等等。PHA已被利用作为细胞生长的支架和体内的植入材料,如心脏阀门、心血管修补材料和移植材料等。当对PHA膜进行适当的表面处理后,或者与其他的多聚物混合改造后其生物相容性会有所提高,可以在组织工程领域中得到更广泛的应用。本实验室在PHA的组织工程领域有多年的研究。我们会对PHA在组织工程中的应用进行深入的讨论。

Over the past years, PHA and its composites are used to developed devices include sutures, suture fasteners, meniscus repair devices, rivets, tacks, staples, screws (including interference screws), bone plates and bone plating systems, surgical mesh, repair patches, slings, cardiovascular patches, orthopedic pins (including bone filling augmentation material), adhesion barriers, stents, guided tissue repair/regeneration devices, articular cartilage repair devices, nerve guides, tendon repair devices, atrial septal defect repair devices, pericardial patches, bulking and filling agents, vein valves, bone marrow scaffolds, meniscus regeneration devices, ligament and tendon grafts, ocular cell implants, spinal fusion cages, skin substitutes, dural substitutes, bone graft substitutes, bone dowels, wound dressings, and hemostats. The changing PHA compositions also allow favorable mechanical properties, biocompatibility, and degradation times within desirable time frames under sp
ecific physiological conditions. This lecture focuses what have been achieved in the PHA tissue engineering area in our lab and what the prospective look likes in the near future.
