Abstract: The narrow bandwidth property of a micro-strip antenna is one of the important reasons to restrict its wide application, so how to broaden the bandwidth of micro-strip antenna has been the concern of the related researchers. Some methods to broaden the bandwidth of micro-strip antennas have been proposed in the past few years, and have achieved good effects.The double-layer patch is adopted and inserted between the two air-layer structures to implement the purpose of increasing the bandwidth of micro-strip antennas. In addition, the orthogonal feed is used to achieve a circular polarization of antennas. Since there is the function resonance coupling between the patches, the bandwidth of the micro-strip antenna is extended to 11.04% under the condition of VSWR≤2 and the gain reaches 5.2 dB. It can work well within L band from 1 206~1 346 GHz.
