摘要：PURPOSE:To make it possible to stop a pressure plate at a smaller angle than 90 degree by bringing the leading end of a slide pin, which is mounted slidably on the pressure plate, into engagement with a cam member by the action of a spring. CONSTITUTION:A cam 3 formed with a projection 3a and a recess 3b is fixed to the end of a support shaft 2 which in turn is fixed to the body 1 of a copying apparatus. A pivot pin 9 of a pressure plate 7 is inserted rotatably into the cam 3 and the support shaft 2. A silde pin 5 is inserted slidably into a bearing 12 which is supported on a support member 11 held in contact with a hinge member 6. The slide pin 5 is biased through a link member 15 by a spring 4 so that its leading end having a complementary shape with the recess 3b of the cam 3 is forced into contact with the cam. When the pressure plate 7 is turned and opened at a higher angle than a preset value, the slide pin 5 is made to protrude by the biasing action of the spring until its leading end passes over the projection 3a of the cam and engages with the recess 3b. If the tension of the spring 4 is so adjusted that the pressure plate is prevented from falling down by its own weight, the pressure plate can be stopped at that position.
