Abstract Biochar is a new product with a leature-rich and wide application, it can be used as high-quality energy, soil conditioner, as well reducing agent, slow release carrier and carbon sequestration camer. 1 nterest lor the production a们d applicatio门01biochar has arlsen Irom the whole society. In the recent years,on the basis 01 traditional technlques, technology and equipment research 01 biomass carbo门ization has made Importa川progress in Chlna. This paper Introduced the basic pri门ciples and main characteristics 01 biomass carbonization tech门ology,and discussed the research progress 01 biomass carbonization technology and equipments. Moreover the basic principles 01 different carbo门ization process technology and equipment were analyzed. Flnally, t he maln problems in the development 01 biomass carbonization tech口ology equipment were discussed, and development cou门termeasures and suggestlo门s were proposed.
