SCOPE: This specification covers the material, application and performance requirements for a pre-applied dry-to-touch sealant on external pipe threads.
范围：本规范涵盖了外部管螺纹预涂指触干燥密封胶的材料、 应用及性能要求。 DECRIPTION: A polymeric water based dispersion containing mineral fillers and lubricity additives that is pre-applied to threaded areas of pipe fittings or fasteners in liquid form by either tumbling or machine coating and subsequently dried to a non-hardening thread sealant. The material shall be capable of providing resistance to vibrational loosening and instant sealing.
一种包含矿物填料及润滑剂的水分散聚合物，通过翻滚或机涂以液态形式预涂于管件或紧固件螺纹区域，随后干燥至非硬化状态螺纹密封剂。该材料具有抗振防松及瞬间密封的能力。
Material requirements: 材料要求
1） Fluid Resistance: The material shall be capable of providing a seal for water, fuel, oil, and any liquids used in axle or transmission assemblies.
抗液性：该材料对水、燃料、油、及使用在轴件或变速箱总成中的任何液体具有密封作用。 2） Temperature: Shall have a temperature operating range from -50℃ to 120℃。
温度：温度范围-50℃ t至 120℃。
3) Toxicity: Shall be non-toxic. Solvents such as benzene, toluene, and chlorinated hydrocarbons are considered toxic, and their use is prohibited in compounding material to this specification. A material Safety Data Sheet must be supplied prior to vender approval.
毒性：材料应为无毒性的。含有苯、甲苯及被认为有毒的氯化烃类溶剂在此规范中均被禁止使用。材料安全数据表应在出售前获得批准。
4) Storage: Shall have a minimum on-part shelf life of 2 years at room temperature.
存储： 室温下最少2年保质期。
封胶机Application requirements: 应用要求
1) The amount of dry sealant applied to each male pipe thread end of a part must be sufficient to perform the required thread sealing dictated by the application and must not interfere with assembly.
每一零件外管螺纹端所使用干胶量必须满足螺纹密封要求的使用量，且不干扰装配。
2) Parts must show residual sealer in thread roots after installation and removal of plug from mating part.
安装及去除配件塞后，零件必须显示螺纹根部残余封口胶。 3) The first one to two threads of the part should be substantially free of the sealant. A small quantity of sealant on the lead thread will be permissible if start ability of the male thread area into a mating thread is not affected.
零件的第一至第二牙基本上无密封剂。如不影响外螺纹装配至内螺纹的起动性，允许起始螺纹处有少量密封剂。
4) The sealant must be uniformly applied all around the circumference and along the length of the threaded area of the part.
密封剂必须均匀地涂在零件的螺纹区域上。
5) The sealant should be applied to parts that are free from surface contamination such as oil, grease, dirt, rust, ect..
测井电缆密封胶应涂于表面无污染的零件，如无油、无油脂、无污垢、无锈迹等。
Performance requirements: 性能要求：
The following performance requirements must be met by a sample size of 10-3/4-14 NPTF pipe plugs installed in holes having NPSF threads. The sealant must be applied using production application equipment.
以下性能要求必须满足样本尺寸10-3/4-14 NPTF管塞装配进有NPSF螺纹的孔中的要求。 密封剂涂覆使用生产应用设备。
1) Leakage after initial installation 初始安装后泄露
a) Install a coated male pipe thread into a female pipe thread to a torque as shown in Table 1.

b) After 24(+8, 0) hours, apply 120 (+5, 0) psig [827(+34, 0) KPa ] air to the connection. There should be zero leakage.

2) Leakage after reuse 再使用后泄露
a) Using the samples from Section 1, completely remove and then reinstall the part to the same torque as in Section 1.

b) After 24(+8, 0) hours, remove and reinstall the part to the same torque as in Section 1.

c) Repeat this procedure until the part has been completely removed and reinstalled 4 times.

3) Torque retention: 螺纹连接拧紧扭矩的长时间保持性
a) Using new samples, install the male pipe threads into their respective female threads. Tighten all fittings to the torque as shown in Table 1.
使用新样件，安装外螺纹至各自的内螺纹中。将所有配件拧紧只附表1所示的
扭矩。
b) After 72 (+8, 0) hours, measure the break loose torque in the removal direction of all pieces and record.
72 (+8, 0)小时后，测量所有零件去除方向的拆卸力矩值并记录。 c) Compare the installation torque values to the break loose torque values. The break loose torque must not exceed 200% of the installation torque or be less than the installation torque.

In addition to the above performance requirements, fittings which are coated with this material and have been tightened per Table 1 Tightening Torque must be capable of maintaining 300 psi (2068 kPa) hydraulic pressure after five uses without ant leakage.
