I am also currently (2006) supervising 7 MArch students and 1 MAS and 11苯基1丙酮 Postgraduate Diploma student in the Sustainable Design area.
Since 1983 I have taught design in years 1-5 in three Schools of Architecture and under both year and studio based systems. I have delivered lecture courses in history (years 1-3), theory (years 1-3 and 5), architectural science (years 1-3), sustainable design (years 4-5), and construction (year 2).
Since arrival in NZ in 1996 and until the end of 2004 I have successfully supervised 49 Masters students with most researching in the field of sustainable design. During the same period I have successfully supervised 7 PhD students.
I have contributed to distance teaching through work at the Open University, through organising and contributing to the Teaching Project on the Use of Steel in Architecture pu
blished by the Steel Construction Institute and British Steel, and through a course written for architectural technicians with Robert Vale for the BIAT.
I have given occasional lectures at many Schools of Architecture in the UK, NZ and Australia.
From 2004 to present I have been Visiting Professor at CUHK teaching on their MSc programme.
My research interests include buildings and a built environment that make a minimal impact on the natural environment; creation of community and economy within the resources of the natural environment; quantification of environmental impact; vernacular architecture and sustainable communities; history of prefabrication.
