We need the laboratory of Basement, E 13, for the research on liver and kidney pathology in SAMP8 mice and other specific histostaining and immunostaining processes.
The on going scientific research projects including:
1)The study of neurodegeneration in NFkB knockout mice, iNOS knockout mice
and PrP knockout mice using Fluoro-Jade staining and specific silver staining
2)Time course of fatty deposition in SAMP8 mice using Oil red staining and Sudan
black staining in vibratome section and/or cryostat section.
3)MulV virus immunostaining in vibratome section and/or cryostat section in the
liver of SAMP8 mice.
4)MulV virus immunostaining in vibratome section and/or cryostat section in the
kidney of SAMP8 mice.
自动抹灰机5)Onset and dynamics of liver degeneration in SAMP8 mice induced by murine leukemia virus (MuLV).
6)Onset and dynamics of kidney degeneration in SAMP8 mice induced by murine
leukemia virus (MuLV).
We need the Cryostat for cutting sections at 15 um thickness and mounted directly on gelatin-coated slides.
We need the vibratome for cutting sections at 50 um thickness and collected in buffer solution.
We need the Tissue processor, the Microwave, Immunostaing tools, and other Histological staining tools in the room for our research projects.
段远程Fluoro-Jade is an anionic fluorochrome capable of selectively staining degenerating neurons in brain slices.
The histochemical application of Fluoro-Jade results in a simple, sensitive and reliable method for staining degenerating neurons and their processes.
Fluoro-Jade can detect neuronal degeneration results from a variety of neurotoxin, genetic defect, and virus infection.
The block is freeze-sectioned (30-40 um) with a sliding microtome, resulting in free-floting sections.

Scientific studies are most frequently based on a hypothesis or at least an expected result. However, some of the most important scientific discoveries have occurred by accident. Coronal, sagittal, and horizontal.
Store the brain in a large volme (5-10x brain volume) of buffered formaldehyde and/or change regularly,
Never Freeze the tissue
Degeneration persists in a detectable state for ~6days for this stain (vs. less than 3 days for H&E) from the time degeneration begins
5-6 day intervals vs. 2-3 intervals using H&E methods.
