1. 教材分析

本单元以冲突为话题，揭示了现实生活中的各种矛盾与冲突。这些矛盾与冲突大到国家之间的战争，小到父母子女、兄妹、同学和朋友间的争吵。通过本单元的教学，同学们可以了解到战争的残酷与血腥，从而促使每位同学热爱和平，为维护世界和平尽自己的一份力。本单元的教学旨在教育人们要理性对待矛盾与冲突。本单元不仅介绍了各种矛盾冲突，还提供了解决问题的建议。通过本单元的学习，同学们可以学会如何处理邻里关系，怎样与同学朋友相处，怎样与老师及父母沟通，学会写抱怨信，能够帮人解决生活中的矛盾与冲突。

1.1 In this unit you will ... 介绍了本单元的学习目标，让学生了解本单元的话题和内容，明确学习方向。

1.2 Warm–up 通过一系列的听说写活动，让学生了解各种冲突，为本单元的学习奠定良好的基础。

1.3 Lesson 1 Living in a Community通过两篇报道，让学生了解中外邻里之间发生的矛盾和冲突。通过学习这两篇报道，引导学生学会正确处理邻里关系。语法部分总结了强调的各种表达方法。

1.4 Lesson 2 Conflict Resolution通过一系列的听说练习让学生了解生活中的各种矛盾与冲突及解决办法，提高他们的沟通能力。提醒同学们要注意自己的语音语调，因为同样的话语，不同的语音语调代表不同的情绪及含义。

1.5 Lesson 3 War Memories课文内容是四个经历过不同战争的人对战争往事的追忆。通过学习课文，帮助同学们了解战争的残酷，以及普通战士追求健康和平的生活的美好愿望。通过对战争残酷性的回忆，使我们更加珍惜今天的和平幸福生活，人人都要为维护世界和平尽自己的一份力。课文后附有Read to learn和Vocabulary练习题。Read to learn介绍了阅读技巧——限时阅读。Vocabulary部分是关于近义词、易混词练习。

1.6 Communication Workshop介绍了抱怨信的书写方法及注意事项。通过一些听说写练习，了解不同冲突及解决办法。

1.7 Language Awareness 8 在具体语言环境中学习各种完成时的用法。本课的教学内容是要求学生从一封信中了解双方有什么矛盾与冲突，冲突的原因是什么，要求学生读完信后给作者提出合理的建议来解决这些矛盾与冲突。要求学生在语言环境中总结动词完成时的各种用法。

1.8 Culture Corner 文章介绍了西方国家特有的一种职业：学校顾问——各种矛盾的调解人。

1.9 Bulletin Board 是学生们生活中经常遇到的问题——与父母发生冲突。本版块要求同学们给Lin Sen提出合理建议来解决他和父母之间的矛盾。

1.10 Unit Diary要求学生对本单元的学习情况作出总结，发现学习中存在问题，出解决办法，提高学习效率。

2. 教材重组

2.1 将In this unit you will ...，Warm-up和Culture Corner放在一起上一节“热身课”。让

学生了解本单元的学习目标，让学生了解各种冲突。了解西方学校特有的一种职业：学校顾问——各种矛盾的调解人。

2.2 根据Lesson 1 Living in a Community内容上一节“阅读课”。

2.3 根据Lesson 2 Conflict Resolution内容上一节“听说课”。

2.4 把67 页练习题和Language Power 中的Lesson 2 Conflict Resolution内容放在一起，上一节“词汇课”。
