Matter is a general application layer specification.
Matter currently has two branches, matter over Thread and Matter over Wi-Fi. Among them, Thread is a short-range, low-power, IPv6-enabled wireless mesh networking protocol specially designed for the Internet of Things. To achieve interoperability architecture goals between devices, Matter standardizes the application layer of devices and controllers (IPv6-based networks (Thread or Wi-Fi)).

The application layer can be further subdivided into seven main components:折叠
音箱 led日光管Application: The device's high-level business logic. For example, an application focused on lighting might contain logic that handles turning light bulbs on/off and their color characteristics.
Data model: A data primitive that helps describe the various functions of the device. When intentionally interacting with the device, the application operates on these data structures.

Interaction model: Represents a set of actions that can be performed on a device to interact with. For example, reading or writing properties on a device will correspond to interaction with the device. These operations operate on the structure defined by the data model.
Action Framework: Once an action is built using the interaction model, it is constructed into a canonical packaged binary format so that it is well represented on the "line".
Security: The encoded action frame is then sent to the security layer to encrypt and sign the payload to ensure that both the sender and receiver of the packet protect and verify the data.
Message frames and routes: Through the interaction of encryption and signature, the message layer builds a payload format with required and optional header fields; it specifies the properties of the message and some routing information.
IP Framing and Transport Management: After the final payload is built, it is sent to the underlying transport protocol for IP management of the data.手动
