英语可说accompany sb to do sth吗

汉语可说“陪伴某人做某事”，但英语习惯上不能说 accompany sb to do sth。要表示陪某人去某地，只说 accompany sb to a place即可。如：

■他坚持要陪她去车站。

误：He insisted on accompanying her to go to the station.

正：He insisted on accompanying her to the station.

■他说他将陪她回家。

误：He said he was going to accompany her to go home.

汉语可说“欢迎某人做某事”，但英语习惯上不能说 welcome sb to do sth。如：

汉语可说“建议或提议某人做某事”，但英语不能说propose sb to do sth，因为propose后习惯上不接不定式的复合结构。要表示类似意思，可改用后接that从句的形式。如：

正：I propose that Mr John O'Leary should be the chairman.

汉语可说“惩罚某人做某事”，但英语习惯上不能说 punish sb to do sth。如：

汉语可说“赞成某人做某事”，但英语习惯上不能说 approve sb to do sth。遇此情况可用approve of sb’s doing sth。如：
