turn on与turn off相对应；turn up与turn down相对应。其中on, off, up, down均为副词，当代词作宾语时，应置于动词和副词之间。

★turn on表示“打开”，常指开灯或打开家用电器。

★turn off表示“关掉”，常指关掉自来水、电灯以及家用电器等。

★turn up表示“开大，调高”，常指调高（电器等）音量。

turn的用法

一、 turn 用作名词时,意为“轮流”“依次轮流的顺序”。例如:

Now it’s your turn to read the text. 现在轮到你读课文了。

二、 turn 用作系动词时,意为“变得”。例如:

In spring the trees turn green and the flowers start to come out. 春天,树变绿了,花儿开了?

三 turn 用作不及物动词时,意为“转向”“翻转”.

四、转动,旋转

The wheel turns when its axis moves. 轮轴动时,轮子也跟着转动。

五、使倒置,使颠倒;倾倒[O]
