(备注:对单身客人, 尤其是女客,应避免声张他们是单身而来的. “只您一个人吗?”这种说法是不妥的, 应说: “请问还要等人吗?”再加上 “欢迎”使客人觉得自然.)

请问您要等人来吗？

G: No.

不， 不等。

A: Welcome.

Lesson 4 Responding to Guests Requests (1)

Basic Sentences

Say “ yes” 表示同意时我们应该说：

“ Certainly, sir.”

“ Right away, madam.”

“ Yes, of course, ladies.”

Never say 而不能说：

“ O.K.” or “ Yeah”

在说“of course” 之前要加上说 “ yes”

Say “ No.” 表示拒绝或否定时，我们应该说

“ I’m afraid not.”

“ Regretfully not.”

“ I’m really sorry, but you see my difficulty.”

Basic Sentences

When guests praise you. 客人表扬你时， 你应该回答：

“ Thank you. It is very kind of you.”

谢谢！您过奖了。

If you say “ Oh no, I’m very stupid.” They will

not understand what you say. 如果你说“不，我是很愚蠢的。”客人是不明白你是在表示谦逊。

When a guest thanks you.

客人对你表示感谢时，你应该回答：

“ Not at all, you are very welcome.”

“ Please don’t mention it. It was my pleasure.”

“ It was really nothing.”

Don’t say “ Never mind” “不用介意”
