China‘s rural poor
There is a growing phenomenon that the population of the Chinese rural poor is
increasing dramatically .Millions of people take part in the discussion over this issue.
Some of them think that the spring of the poverty of the rural poor is the legislations
and regulations, while others maintain that the source of this situation is the
psychological disparity between the urban citizens and the rural ones .In terms of this
phenomenon, I hold the opinion that not only does the governmental policies but the
differences of mentality between the people who live in the urban areas and that in the
rural areas play important roles in the phenomenon. I will present my opinion in the
following paragraphs.
First of all, because of the unjust regulations, majority of rural citizens never enjoy the
same rights as people who live in the urban areas do, while they take the same or even
more responsibilities such as more taxes and so on at the same time. As a result, there
is an increasing number of the Chinese rural poor. Additionally, the lack of the public
facilities and the completed educational systems is also an obvious representation of
the unfair governmental policies. The rural citizens pay the taxes to
construct the
urban areas instead of paying taxes to complete their public facilities and so on. In
conclusion, the economic disparity between the cities and the countries is much larger
than it was several years ago. In the end, we can witness the augment of the
population of the rural poor in China
Secondly, majority people attribute the poverty in the countryside to the poor
standards of the education in the rural areas and the loss of the talent to urban jobs.
As we all know, education is one of the most important factors in the personal
development which links to the advance of the local economy. The poorer education
children accept in that area, the poorer there will be. Moreover, rural citizens are
living far away from the world of the modern technologies which could transform
information rapidly and correctly. What cannot be denied is that the rural areas are left
behind in not only economy but mentality as the lack of the rapid information and
other necessary technologies. In addition, the old and children who are left in the rural
areas when the young work in the cities can never take the responsibilities to make
more profits for their families and homeland. As a result, the poverty has become the
most serious problem in the rural areas.
However, the governments are attaching much more importance on the poverty
problems in the rural areas, so I maintain that China‘s rural poor will have better lives in 10
year if the policies are valid as the leaders thought or they could do more, such as decreasing the
taxes, increasing the benefit for the old, completing the public service systems, introducing
modern technologies into these areas and so on.
China‘s urban poor
There is a growing phenomenon that the population of the Chinese urban poor is
increasing dramatically .Millions of people take part in the discussion over this issue.
Some of them think that the spring of the poverty of the urban poor is the great
working competition, while others maintain that the source of this situation is
excellent benefit given by the governments. In terms of this phenomenon, I hold the
opinion that not only does too much working competition affects but the
governmental benefits play important roles in the foundation of the China’s urban
poor. I will present my opinions in the following paragraphs.
First of all, it cannot be denied that heavy population pressure brings on keen
competition in contemporary society. Some citizens who are poorly academic may
lose their occupation in the competition, which is a main cause of the issue. In
accordance with a latest survey that 23.58% citizens came from suburb or countryside.
As a consequence, those who were from poor-educational areas have little
competitive strength. Besides, even some people were born in city, they still lose the
jobs because of laziness. Nowadays, a large proportion of youngsters cannot calm
their heart down and concentrate to conduct what they need to do. Consequently, they
lose their credit and jobs, ending up to being the poor. The examples are really
miserable for us to read.
Another reason for urban poverty I suggest is governmental financial input. Because
of inadequate welfare, part of citizens still live under the minimum living, which I
think is irresponsibility or even delinquency of government. At the meantime,
government put much more budget and efficiency on city construction rather than
citizens’ living conditions. On the contrary, I maintain the opinion that increasing
people’s living condition is the priority of all government. As an old saying goes,
citizens are the fundamental element of the city. The government for the people, by
the people and of the people is the only standard to judge the workload of government.
Government must considerate the condition of local citizenry to calculate the budge of
this year.
In the coming decade, I don’t hold the positive opinion about the condition in urban
area. As we all know that 80% wealthy is held by 20% plutocrats, however, the rest
20% belongs to 80% common people. Hopelessly, poverty gap is estimated to even
larger than current times, which is not an advantageous news for the majority. To
narrow the gap, government should pay more money on well-being of most of people.
The source can come from the tax imposed from the rich, thereby making our society
equitable. The rich also need to take the obligation to raise money to donate for the
people who are trapped. Last but not least is that everyone who is in poor should find
their own way to save themselves. There are many examples of off-workers to
motivate them to rebuild their lives and draw their bright future.
