英语短文-Fancy World

It was the first time I was there. I was walking with a friend ,

and then somehow we were there.

A small room, dirty and dimly-lighted, with 4 or 5 windows,

each of which had a POS stuck on the windowpane. It looked like

a canteen. Maybe it was really a canteen, I looked through one of

the windows, and there were lots of dining platesmade of iron,

and at this moment, I had smelled the awful oil fume odor filling

the air.

'CLOSED DURING VACATION,' a paper on the window said.

I wanted to tell my friend, but she walked toward the corner

window room, which looked like a store. There was a woman with

bushy hair--she seemed to have put some effort into it--which

looked awful, and hid nearly half her face. In short, my first

impression was that she might be

They were talking. But I cannot remember what they said.

Then we left. Everything seemed to be natural.

And we turned into a small, yellow-painted wood door. Inside,

there were stairs . Beside the stairs was an upward square pipe,

wide enough for a child to crawl through.

I went upstairs, but friend did not come with me. I turned

back to find her. She took off her coat and tied it around her waist.

Going toward the pipe, she skillfully jump on it. What's matter

with her? I thought, what's she going to do?

She had climbed above me and looked down to me, saying,

'I'll go first.'

'Wait! Why don't we take the stairs? '

She ignored me. As she disappeared from view, I jumped on

the pipe without thinking. I was afraid that she would leave me

alone there in that strange place. I followed behind her, climbing

up the pipe, which was very cold. It was amazing. It was my first

time climbing a pipe but it seemed easy.

I don't know which floor I had climbed to, when I saw two

boys coming down. We saw each other, and while I was quite

embarrassed, they seemed indifferent. They talked something to

each other, and then went straight downstairs.

After a while, I felt that everything around me had became

soft. And the pipe changed too; it became twisty. Theneverything

seemed to blow up, and I could feel

I opened my eyes again, and there was the dim lamp light,

and my textbook was underneath it.

It had been a strange place, and the friend, whom I had not

seen for 6 or 7 years, was still like she had been 6 or 7 years ago.
