Pete and Mike are good friends. They like to eat

candies. they often compete（比赛） to see who can eat

more. Pete takes nine bites of cake every day. His mom

says, “If you are wise, you will listen to my rules and not

eat them before dinner.” Pete refuses（拒绝） to listen.

Mike’s favorite* food is candy cane and ice cream.

“Mike, this is not a race, please slow down or you’ll get a
