以Contradiction为例记忆单词

请大家花几分钟牢记contradiction，然后再利用它记忆其它的单词（把一个单词分成单个字母去“背”真的是很难有收获的）

contradiction[kɔntrə'dikʃən]n.反驳, 矛盾

分解记忆：

contra-是一个表示“反对, 相反”之义的前缀

可能会有朋友会认为这一个前缀就有五个字母，本身就够难记了。

其实完全没有必要担心，我们可以把contra再拆分开来记忆：

con-也是一个很常用的前缀

con-(=com-)[前缀]表示“共同, 联合”之义

联想记忆：

contest['kɔntest, kən'test]n.论争, 竞赛v.争论, 争辩, 竞赛, 争夺（con+test）

context['kɔntekst]n.上下文, 文章的前后关系(con+text)

contain[kən'tein]vt.包含, 容纳, 容忍(con+tain)

concept['kɔnsept]n.观念, 概念(con+cept)

请大家看看自己手中的《New Concept English(新概念英语)》，复习一下这个concept。

contra-后面的这个tra其实很像是一个表示方向的箭头，请复习一下：

intra-[`intrə]表示“在内”之义（in+tra）

extra-[`ekstrə]表在外, 外面(ex+tra)

con-表示多个事物，把contra-看是方向相对的箭头(→←)

in-这里表向内，把intra-看成是一个向里的箭头(←)

ex-表向外，把extra-看成是一个向外的箭头(→)

大家如果熟悉了extra-以后，再学习extraordinary可能就不会害怕了：

extraordinary[ik'strɔ:dənəri, ,ekstrə'ɔ:diri]adj.非常的, 特别的, 非凡的, 特派的

认识了contra-以后再学习contradict可能就容易了：

contradict[,kɔntrə'dikt]vt.同...矛盾, 同...抵触（contra+dict）

dict在单词中表“文字”的意思。

大家可能学习过dictionary：

dictionary['dikʃənəri]n.字典, 词典（dict+ion+ary）

diction['dikʃən]n.措辞, 用语, 言语(dict+ion)

-ion是名词后缀

大家熟悉了contradict后再来学习contradiction一定不会再害怕了吧：

contradiction[,kɔntrə'dikʃən]n.反驳, 矛盾（contra+dict+ion）

请大家尽量记住这个contradiction并在以后的日子里机会多复习它，相信你要是把这个单词玩熟了，一定不会再去把一个单词分成单个的字母去“背”了。

contradiction这个单词主要表达两个意思，一是“矛盾”，一是“反驳”：
